Nobody says it better than a Groove Cruise Virgin! check out what these first timers had to say about their first GC experience:
Jeff Jones - After 2 years of anticipation the groove cruise blew my mind. Hosted events for a living and been to music festivals aroubd tge globe and this was the most professionally put together party ive ever attended id say i changed from a virgin to a lifer! February 3 at 8:54am
Rosanne Rodriguez - All this GC virgin has to say is this…I have been to many…MANY….EDM events throughout my lifetime…damn…it all started back in the ”Disco” days…and last weekend was probably the most Epic…such an amazing blend of people…no drama…just everyone coming together for the same purpose…for the Love of House and dirty beatzz…someone asked me to discribe it…and all I could say..it was like WMC on steroids…you had to be there to know…and YEP…I’ll be there again next year…!! One Love <3
Bryan Heilbrunn - Popped my cherry….What an amazing 4 days. Got a total of 11 hours of sleep in 72 hours. Was up 26 hours straight on the last day, lost weight from all the dancing, made so MANY new friends, had the most amazing time of my life. Put down the deposit from next year just 18 hours in the trip. As for the week after, get off the ship, went directly to the hotel where we could not sleep because of the music in our heads. Ate some food, had a couple of drinks and went to sleep by the pool. That night slept for 14 straight hours. All I can say is, 2014 cannot come fast enough!
Jessy Marie - 2013 was my first GC, all I keep telling my friends is that I have never met a nicer, amazing, crazier! group of people in my life. Such good vibes & good times. I fell in love with new DJ’s and just really was able to be myself and party. My bf and I cannot wait for 2014. I went back to work (as a nurse at a hospital) Tuesday morning..day after GC disembarked and wanted to do nothing but sleep but felt better as the days went on, no sickness but there ARE ongoing dance parties at random times, especially in my bathroom when I am getting ready to go out
Josh Macias - Groove Cruise virgin here. Coming back into town, all my friends ask me to describe it, and simply I can’t if you weren’t there. Beyond my wild expectations. Just a great fucking time. Great positive vibes with great positive people. Definitely going to 2014.
Patrick Salsbury - It exceeded all of my reasonable expectations and kept surprising me with things that I hadn’t even imagined.
I’ve been telling people that I think it it qualifies as the best party I have ever attended in my life (and I’ve been raving since 1992, and been to Burning Man for three years, for comparison.)
Although it’s on a totally different scale than Burning Man, when you don’t have that whole “Mad Max”/desert survival/”battling the elements for your very life” aspect, it lets you just focus on just having a good party, and that really, really makes a difference.
I went alone for my first time, because even though I had extra cabin space, none of my friends managed to get it together for this cruise. Everybody aboard was awesome and welcoming, and made me feel like part of the family.
For several weeks before, and during my flights over and back, and now in the week following, I’ve been mainlining the groove cruise radio podcast, and highly recommend it! It got me in the mood, got me through long sections of the trip, morivated me to get moving after sleeping on board (even when i was sore & stiff from dancing my ass off), and has helped me coast down to normal life with no post-cruise depression.
I liked it so much, that I’ve signed up for the next TWO, and intend to continue after that. I’m hooked, and making the hard-sell to friends now, and hope to be bringing some with me when I come back.
If you’re thinking about it, stop thinking and just DO EET!
Marika Tekila This all started last year when my best friend bought me a ticket to GC (she end up neve coming)I expected something completely different. Not only I had the time of my life, I also met precious people that will stay friend forever. It’s not just a party…it opened my eyes that high level of positivity and love is possible even though it only last 3 days, it happened, it exist and it’s fucking magic!I wanted to thank you all GC peeps to have contributing to one of the most intense bday celebration I ever had!M.A.G.I.C
Jess Vanderputten - PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT ATTENDING A GROOVE CRUISE: This was the most epic festival I have ever been to!! (Just to give everyone an idea I have been to every type of show from Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) Dark Side of the Moon Tour, The Roots Picnic, over 15 DMB shows/caravans, EDC, UMF, Kaskade’s FON tour, 311, Sublime, Weezer, TBS, Coheed & Cambria, Warped Tour, Sensation White, and the list goes on and on from anything there and in between… ) HOWEVER everything about the GC was AMAZING, EPIC, FUN!!
My thoughts, very organized, staff was extremely friendly, all theme parties we’re wonderful and i loved how EVERYONE got involved (also enjoyed how everyone embraced how beautiful everyone was and girls weren’t called sluts for dressing the way they did, as they often get labeled at other festivals if they are half naked), great line-up, loved how really intimate the experience was because there are less than 2,500 people on the boat. Thought it was awesome if you wanted to you could meet dj’s, party with them, chat with them etc. You get to know a lot of people!! The FB groups to get you involved pre cruise to meet people, discuss themes, etc. we’re wonderful. I met people that were GC virgins (like me) that will continue to go every year now, and met people that have gone 3, 4, 5+ years and they said it just gets better and better. I have friends from many different travel experiences, but LOVE the people I met on this cruise!! I love how it was non-stop, I slept for only 4 hours the whole weekend. I highly recommend this event!! I already put my deposit down for 2014 Miami GC!!! I might join the West Coast cruise last minute, we’ll see…
Post GC issues: Depression, deathly sick…I’m about to go to the clinic tomorrow for meds because I haven’t been able to get rid of the sickness on my own, I HAVE eaten everything in my site including anything with fat, carbs, sugar, lots of ice cream, whatever the fuck I want! Also, major problem of stalking photography pages and fellow GCer’s pages to look for myself, friends and my dinosaur (Roland Festival Dinosaur)… also if you haven’t liked my dino page and were on GC this year shame on you!!!! RAWWRRRR!!!
In conclusion…how many times did I mention the word LOVE in this post?!! Seriously, do yourself a favor, go on the mother fucking Groove Cruise!!!!!!
~Jen Christopher- Lansing, Michigan~
Alright people, now that I’ve come out of my 2 week coma from this crazy trip I think I can respond. I seriously don’t even know where to begin. This cruise was by far the best vacation I have ever been on. Mostly because of all the crazy fockers!! Seriously, I never expected to have that much fun and to have met such awesome people. I felt like I had known all of you for years. All of us got along so well. Like one big happy family , I am still reminiscing in my head about all the events that took place and I find myself smiling or laughing every time. Pure entertainment, pure fun. Just when you thought you had a great day or laughed your hardest, it was topped by something else. I had the best time of my life with all ya’ll. To those of you that I’ve seen and rocked out with since the cruise…it’s been fun. Hope to keep in contact with everyone and get together for more events. J.Beuks…thank you sooooooo much for putting together the GROOVE CRUISE and for bringing such cool people together. You’re the best!! Much love to everyone!!!
Jennifer Mazzamurro - This was way better than I imagined, & I was imagining nothing but amazingness. GC touches ur heart & my heart isn’t easily touched! I legit couldnt walk or feel my legs/feet by Sun but there was nooo way i was stopping. So..much..fking..love!!
Ken Taylor - for those of you that forgot what its like to be a Gc virgin here is a good look into those eyes. I dont have any problem poking fun at myself along the way. I couldn’t be happier to be apart of this family. Not only was I a GC virgin but a festival virgin, this was my first event. Went from a house “virgin” to a house “sex addict”. http://m.youtube.com/index?&desktop_uri=%2F#/watch?v=qGeuDMs7Cgk February 4 at 7:01pm
Karli Elizabeth - It is the absolute most intensely wonderful experience in the world. It would take me days to explain it. Thus, to make a long story short. JUST BOOK IT. February 4 at 10:32pm
The smartest idea since the night club!!!
~Andrew Burns-Phoenix, Arizona~
I’M A GROOVE CRUISER FOR LIFE! The quality people you meet on the Groove Cruise is amazing. I have met many friends that I will be friends for life. I went on one cruise prior to the Groove Cruise, and between the bad music and boring people I thought I’d never go on a cruise again, boy has that changed now!! The people, the music, the dancing all make it so you don’t even want to get off the boat!
~Jacki O-Bay Area, California~
What a great group of people. It was like going to the best bar, with the best crowd!
~Shannon Williams- Grand Rapids, Michigan, Bangin’ Promotions~
The Groove Cruise is an amazing experience. Take an already fun cruise and add in great people, DJs, and excitement to take your vacation to another level. Perfect for those looking to vacation and party with like minded, music loving people!
~DJ Atimatik (aka Tim Patmont)- Pleasanton, California~
There is something about being isolated from the “real world” and surrounding yourself with other people who love dance music as much as you do. You are all there for a common purpose–your passion for music, and because of that, you can relate to everyone. I know I am always commenting on how lost I feel in life, but for 3 days I’m able to forget about that and just be at peace, cruising with new friends in the middle of the ocean on one huge music festival.
~Jason Schunemann- Miami, Florida~
Frickin’ fantastic. A lot of my friends aren’t into dance music, so it was really nice to hang out with people who understand what I’m talking about when I walk in and say, “Tiesto.” The Groove Cruise was a week-end party full of fun people, good music, and great experiences. I missed some meals, a lot of sleep, and loved every second of it.
~Kai- Chicago, Illinois~
It was absolutely awesome! Atmosphere and music was great, the people that I met has to be the best part of the cruise to me. You can dance and party anywhere, but to do it with people who all share the same passion of music and dancing is a whole different experience itself. You also get to meet life long friends.
~Ted Paizis- Rochester, Minnesota~
Crystal Alicea - I did get flu right before GC! But Thank God I got better a day before I left to Miami. As for my experience I was mind blown! Met so,so many great ppl that I was super sad it went by so fast. Idk if I could’ve stood awake more than 72 hrs anyway. Music was great, themes were fun, & loved the atmosphere. It made the week after GC a very sad one. I called out of work 1st day back and every time I heard music I was dancing like I was still on the boat! Lol One thing is for sure I don’t ever want to miss the Groove Cruise ever. I can’t wait to be a two timer next year! <3 February 5 at 9:30am
Ferny Prego - Let’s just say that I needed a full five days of recovery… That being said, the cruise definitely exceeded my expectations. I didn’t even think it was possible to party that much. There were two moments that proved this cruise was going to be out of hand! (1) The pool party right when we got on the ship, (2) the fact that they had a DJ throwing it down while everyone was getting their Saturday breakfast at the breakfast buffet. Amazing times (those I can actually remember lol)!! February 5 at 11:19am
Amy LaBanca Sumrall – Omg – definitely exceeded expectation! Already signed up for 2014! The music and atmosphere were amazing! Everyone did a great job dressing for the themes so many hotties! We didn’t even know about the restaurants! Next year I will pack less, talk to more people and dance my ass off again – oh and remember to drink more water! Hope everyone enjoyed the daily treats taped to our door on deck 10! met so many great people – will certainly do that again? February 8 at 11:44pm
David Cohen – Our first GC a couple weeks ago was amazing!! What I liked the most was the spirit of everyone there to have a good time. If I was around for the free love hippie days of Woodstock, I think this would be pretty close to it, but with house music. We made like-minded friendships that will last a lifetime, we strengthened existing ones, and loved all the sexiness, costumes, and free spirits of everyone we met. The music was incredible and I’ve never danced more in my life over a 4 day period. Saturday at 10:08am
Bridgette Zakar - it was way more awesome than i could have ever anticipated!!! i just got into house music about a year or so ago and i loved every second of this cruise!! beautiful positive vibe the whole time and amazing dj’s and carefree people! i love you all and i cant wait to see you all in paradise next january
<3
Christy Gray – Words cannot even describe the AMAZING experience I had!!! From the moment I stepped on the boat, til the very last beat at the sunrise set it was all AWESOME beyond words!!! The guys are not douchey, the girls are not bitchy!! And the Music is just unreal!!!!! It surpassed all my expectations and then some!! CANNOT WAIT for WC GC and 2014 Miami GC!!! I am officially addicted to GC forever!!! GREAT JOB GC CREW! Thank you for the most amazing time of my life!! Life chaning for sure!!!
Chelsea Zitnay – The fact that I can’t even quite put the words down in print says a TON about my experience. I’m NEVER lost for words, and yet, I can’t quite explain my first time in a way that would even give 50% credit to how life-changing this experience was. It was hands-down the best vacation I have ever had as well as the best festival I have ever attended and yet, I just know that my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. times are going to be even better. Hey! just like in real life
Oh, one thing I will say is that I NEVER understood how everyone on these groups was all like “GROOOOOOVE CRUUUUISE AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!” for months before we boarded the ship, until after I got off. However, I also did not have/am not having the post-GC depression everyone talked/is talking about either…so did I do something wrong??? Oh no, I know I did it just right! I guess there is just room for personal improvement… onward and upward! ##2WCGCLA
